Position: Elementary School Teacher (Grades 1 – 6)
Location: Orchard International School, Milton, Canada
Type: Full-time or Part Time

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire young minds, foster a love of learning, and help students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and school standards.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional and educational needs of all students.
• Teach, assess and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic growth.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administration.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and attendance.
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support school initiatives and enhance the overall educational experience.
• Address and support individual student needs through differentiated instruction and personalized learning plans.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Proficient in using educational technology and resources.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (STEM background preferred)
• Valid teaching certification for the province of Ontario is preferred.
• Previous experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred.
• A clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening.
